#UKAI Japanese restaurant and #gastropub shines, like a beacon at the unfashionable end of the #Portobello Road. Featuring splendid work by Irish street artist Fin Dac you'll walk into a comfortable yet stunningly fitted out restaurant and bar which has a contemporary Japanese feel. It's just that little bit edgy - the way I remember this whole area a few years ago. I was delighted to find that the food was utterly delicious - Japanese with a bit of Italian style thrown in for good measure. We indulged in far too much - from the freshest sashimi to pan-fried scallops with orange tobiko and yuzu ponzu, homemade black cod gyozo and beef tenderloin toban yaki. Chef Patron Alessandro Verros trained at Koji in Parson's Green and Roka - but comes from Turin. My dessert, as he pointed out, owed more to his mother than to the #Japanese influence of most of the menu - a delicious dark chocolate fondant. I wish there was somewhere JUST like this on my doorstep - it makes me regret leaving West London. But, it is genuinely somewhere I'll be going back to...and somewhere I'd recommend you visit yourself. Check out the @findac #streetart, then indulge in some food! #foodstagram #foodphotography #instafoodie #foodbloguk #foodblogger #instafood #instafoodblogger #feedfeed #toplondonrestaurants #lovelondon #londonisopen #londonigers #lookuplondon #luxuryfoodblog #londonblog #tbin #londoneats #instafood #foodography #zagat #eeeeets #lookuplondon
