The most delicious lightly smoked Wagyu beef tartare with apple, egg and foie gras @MRestaurants_ in Victoria @Mrestaurants - one of our starters for dinner the other night. We were impressed with the quality of the steaks, the cooking and the overall ambience. It's a bit of a hidden gem - from the street all you can see is the gorgeous wine bar. Downstairs there's an elegant and comfortable grill and raw bar and a private club area along with some private dining rooms. Definitely worth exploring it has won a number of awards for #Toplondonrestaurants including @OpenTable diners choice for 2017 and ‘Best for Steak and Seafood’ in Tatler. If you are are planning a trip to the #UNESCO city of Bruges, you are probably expecting #heritage and #fineart. But, did you know it also has some very fine restaurants indeed. Here's the hare, black pudding and beetroot dish from my excellent dinner at #sanscravate - a Michelin Starred restaurant on Langestraat in #Bruges - I ate equally well on the next night at #FrancoBelge just down the road. Definitely worth remembering! . . #SecretsofBruges #VisitBruges #heritage #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #bbctravel #secretplaces #InBruges #VisitBruges

Sunset from my balcony from @RoyaltonStLucia where I stayed the food and rum festival with #TravelStLucia - the kind of end to the day that brings mean to #LetHerInspireYou The #Royalton is a five-star #luxuryresort, to the North of St Lucia. I stayed in the Diamond Club section of the main resort, with a butler service, private pool and bar and a cute lounge/patio. My room/suite was massive with a stunning freestanding bath and this wraparound balcony with views out across the bay. If you prefer a child-free experience, there's also Hideaway, an adults-only section which has it's own diamond club with a butler service. All the rooms are suite size - with jacuzzi baths and walk-in showers. The Royalton is right on the beach, but there are also plenty of pools and even an indoor pool and hydrotherapy facility in the spa if you just need to get out of the sun! My first post about St Lucia is now live, and I'll be writing a full review of the Royalton in the next few weeks, so do check my profile for the links. #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #secretplaces

On Friday nights the sleepy fishing village of #AnseLaRaye in #StLucia comes alive for #FishFriday. I went along during the Rum and Food festival, but it happens every week and is definitely worth visiting. The whole island seems to congregate on the shoreline for bakes and local fish cooked over traditional coal clay pots, bouillon and lobster curry. All washed down with rum or the local #Piton beer. It's a vibrant affair where visitors are outnumbered about 20 to 1 but where you will be welcome to try the food - the freshest fish on the Island - cooked on the day it is caught - drink and enjoy the moment #LetHerInspireYou #TravelStLucia. Check my profile for a link to my first post about this fascinating #Caribbean Island #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #secretplaces

The pool and greathouse at #SerenityatCoconutBay @SerenityatCbay where I stayed for the last part of my trip with #TravelStLucia for the Food and Rum Festival. An adult only suites resort, my private suite had butler service, a plunge pool I could float two lilos in a hammock and an outdoor bar with stools and cabana. But, the lure of the beautiful pool with fountains, a bar and some excellent poolside dining was just too much for me. I loved #StLucia and there will be more to come later on the blog and on instagram. So follow along and #LetHerInspireYou #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #secretplaces

This is Government House, the official residence of the Governor-General of St Lucia. High up in the volcanic mountains, it's surrounded by lush forests and protected by a gilded gate with Royal insignia. Built in 1895, it was originally used as the home and office of the Commissioners of Saint Lucia until 1958, then for the Administrators of the island. From 1967, Government House was used by the Governors of Saint Lucia, and since Saint Lucia became an independent state in 1979 it has been used by Governors-General. I hadn't realised that St Lucia only became independent on 22 February 1979. Now as an independent state of the Commonwealth of Nations, St Lucia still has the Queen's head on currency. The French were the first to arrive here in 1660. Fought over for hundreds of years by the French and the English and under the rule of each country seven times, St Lucia is an outstandingly beautiful Caribbean island with a strong sense of community. #LetHerInspireYou is a truly appropriate vision for St Lucia #TravelStLucia More about my trip still to come, so do follow along! #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #secretplaces

Yesterday's boat trip around St Lucia took us to pair of dramatically tapered mountains, the Pitons, on its west coast. It's a stunning #Caribbean island with a tropical climate - lush green rainforests and beautiful beached. We went inland, up into the heart of the volcano for sulphur springs and mud baths. What makes St Lucia special for me? It's definitely the people - who all seem to love their island. There's a real community spirit here - I went on to the Friday Night Fish Fry at the tiny fishing town of Anse Le Raye - where the entire island seemed to have congregated for bakes, local fish cooked over coal and bouillon or lobster curry. All washed down with rum punch or Piton, the local beer. Delicious! I'm here for #StLuciaRumandFood but just enjoying the vibe at the moment #LetHerInspireYou #TravelStLucia

What's your least favourite kitchen chore? For one of the London-Unattached team it has to be Oven Cleaning. So she's had the pleasure of a cleaning service from @fantastic who came to her house today. Here's what she had to say 'Whilst I love to cook and entertain, I think that my most hated piece of housework is cleaning the oven. It’s dirty, hard work, and I always manage to get something caustic on my skin. So having the opportunity to have it professionally cleaned, especially after the hard use the oven had over Christmas , was like an answer to a prayer. I think that the before and after pictures speak for themselves (please don’t judge me on the ‘before’!) . The service arrived on time, worked hard, cleaned up after themselves. Perfect.' @fantasticservices

Here's my finished #TearsofJoy dish with #ChiuChowChilliOil. I wok fried a few scallions. crushed sichuan peppercorns and a handful of shredded roast pork, added peas and a dash of soy and stirred through a teaspoon of Chiu Chow Chilli Oil. Then I served the whole thing on a bed of soft rice noodles (not the yellow wheat and egg noodles which are much too rich for this dish), topped with some crumbled peanuts and with a little saucer of more #LeeKumKee oil on the side. If you'd like to have a go and perhaps win some prizes from @LeeKumKeeEurope all you need to do is create your own #TearsofJoy recipe and instagram it with the hashtag #ChiuChowChilliOil Go on, see if you can #Igniteandexcite with #LKKEurope and take part in the #CCCOChallenge! #spon

An easy recipe that will definitely warm you up and may well bring #tearsineyes - these are the ingredients for my variation on a theme of the famous #Sichuan dish. For the original, you need rice noodles, Sichuan peppercorns and a special sauce made with dried, fresh and pickled chilli peppers and chilli oil. You can make things simple by using #LeeKumKee #ChuiChowChilliOil - and you can pimp it up a bit by adding crumbled toasted peanuts and scallion. My variation for #TearsofJoy uses leftover roast pork and peas to create a stirfry that will #IgniteandExcite for the #CCCOChallenge - The recipe will be on the blog soon and I'll be posting an image of the final dish tomorrow - it was delicious, easy to make and errr...VERY hot! #lkkeurope @lkkeurope . If you were wondering about the name, Chui Chow is a city in Southern China Eastern Guangdong Province - where homemade chilli oil is classic and popular. The LeeKumKee version is an easy way to recreate this classic dish - or to invent your own, like me. Join in and create your own Tears in Eyes dish using the hashtag #ChiuChowChilliOil and you could win a prize from Lee Kum Kee #Spon

More from Anna's recent trip to India with #THEParkHotels to experience first hand the colourful sights and sounds of #IncredibleIndia. Anna went to # Hyderabad to help @TheParkHotels celebrate their 50th Year Anniversary #50yearsofTHEPark. While she was there she got to visit #Chowmalla Palace, in the along the banks of the Musi river. This was where the Nizams entertained their official guests and royal visitors, including English nobility, the last Nizam having been educated in England and having an amassed wealth which made him the fifth richest man in recorded history. The palace has a stunning great hall with Belgian glass chandeliers and is an ideal place to get away from the Laad Bazaar, which has encroached on some of the lands that were once part of the palace. #AnythingButOrdinary #BlackandGold #ig_india #indiagram #theindianroute #gf_india #india_gram #storiesofindia #indiapictures #PortraitsOfIndia @gribbonberry #photographers_of_india #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #secretplaces #incredibleindiaofficial #Tumblr

Something of a feast at Asma Khan 's @darjeelingldn. #darjeelingexpress #KinglyCourt. The Chinese believe serving whole fish brings luck and represents family, togetherness and unity. How about trying this healthy, easy, stuffed whole seabass that you can steam in your oven, not using any special equipment? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Perfect for all the family, it only takes 25 minutes to cook this #PanAsian dish – so dinner can be on the table super quick. You just need a few fresh ingredients and #LeeKumKee sauces that you should be keeping in your store-cupboard. Full recipe coming soon on the blog, but for now, all you need is some Lee Kum Kee Premium Dark Soy Sauce, a little Sesame oil to finish the dish and some Chiu Chow Chilli Oil. • Arbroath Abbey in Angus, Scotland is not just a historic ruin. The Abbey was founded in 1178 (although not completed until 1233) by King William the Lion of Scotland as a memorial to Thomas Becket who had been his childhood friend and originally intended it as his own burial place. It was wealthy, thanks to royal endowments including the income from 24 parishes, a toft of land in every Royal Burgh, lands, fisheries, salt pans, ferries… The monks were given permission to set up a burgh, hold a market and build a harbour. But that's not what makes this place important in #Scottish history. The Declaration of Arbroath, a letter sent to the Pope, was a plea from the people of Scotland for the Pope to reverse the excommunication of Robert the Bruce. In the historic document the Scottish people reaffirmed their independence “It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom – for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.” - it's said to be a precursor of the American Declaration of Independence and it certainly affirms in no uncertain terms the independence of Scotland. Perhaps that's why when the Stone of Scone was returned to Scotland by some crafty students, they chose to leave it on the site of the High Altar at Arbroath Abbey where, in 1320 the assertion of Scottish nationhood was made in the #DeclarationofArbroath.
