You could be forgiven for thinking this is somewhere in Italy or Greece. In fact, the Temple of Diana is in Evora, Portugal. The temple is part of the historical centre of the city, which was included in the classification by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. It's actually quite remarkable that so much of the temple has survived. Built around the first century AD in honour of Emperor Augustus, it was partly destroyed in the 5th century by invading Germanic tribes. Then in the 14th century parts of the temple were used to build a new castle. That was turned into a butcher's shop (!) from the 14th century till 1836. Other things to look out for in Evora include a stunning Cathedral with amazing rooftop panoramic views across the Alentejo and the famous Chapel of Bones. More about my trip to the Alentejo with @tapairportugal #tapairportugal as part of the airline's annual awards. I was delighted to join a group of award winning international travel agents exploring more of the #Alentejo wine route before celebrating in style in #Lisbon. @VisitPortugal #VisitAlentejo #tapportugal #Alentejo #VisitPortugal #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #bbctravel #secretplaces

A trip to Jerusalem...for the Marathon and More - what an amazing city. This is inside the Tower of David, also known as the Jerusalem Citadel, near the Jaffa Gate entrance to the western edge of the Old City of Jerusalem. According to wiki, 'the the citadel that stands today dates to the Mamluk and Ottoman periods. It was built on the site of a series of earlier ancient fortifications of the Hasmonean, Herodian-era, Byzantine and Early Muslim periods, after being destroyed repeatedly during the last decades of Crusader presence in the Holy Land by Ayyubid and Mamluk rulers. It contains important archaeological finds dating back over 2,000 years including a quarry dated to the First Temple period'. It's one of a whole series of ancient and important buildings in Old Jerusalem that I'll be writing about on #LondonUnattached - but in the meanwhile, there's already a post about the amazing and very inclusive Jerusalem Marathon where you can run anything from a full marathon to 800 metres - and where the largest team is #TeamShalva - running to raise money for a very special Childrens' charity. #ITravelJerusalem #Jerusalem. #TBIN #TTOT #exploremore #travelawesome #wanderful #writetotravel #exploringtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #mytinyatlas #natgeography #darlingescapes #letsgobeyond

#Invited A delicious amuse bouche served in neatly cropped hen's eggshells at Reading's only Michelin Starred restaurant, l'Ortolan. This dish was a fresh and light ponzu cured stone bass topped with avruga caviar with pickled fennel and a dashi custard. I was pleasantly taken by surprise by the Asian influences throughout the meal, adding a light and delicate note to the perfect classic French cuisine of Tom Clarke, the head chef at l'Ortolan. The 6 course + tasting menu Gourmand here is £79 per person and offers superb value for exemplary food with excellent quality ingredients. I'll be reviewing fully on London-Unattached in the next few days so watch out for more information. Meanwhile, thankyou @Lortolan for the excellent meal #foodphotography #instafoodie #foodbloguk #foodblogger #instafoodblogger #MichelinStar #finedining #sodelicious #gastronomy #lovingrdg #readingtown #dinnerinspo #finedining #michelin #michelinguide #michelinstar #michelinstarfood #shinfield #gastroart #gastronomy #gastropos #michelinstarchef #foodofinstagram #gourmet #frenchcuisine #berkshire #michelinstarred #lortolan #lortolandining

#Ad Hi My name is Lena - I'm a Tiffanie cat. My human slave loves me a lot and panders to my every whim. But, sometimes she takes me to see the V. E. T. -and if you were wondering about my funny 'beard' its actually where I should have a ruff. I think I look really beautiful and special anyway, but especially when my ruff is fluffy. My last visit to the V. E. T resulted in a general anaesthetic and three teeth being removed. AND worst of all, I came home with a bald patch on my neck! Luckily I'm covered with @Petplan_UK covered for life, so I still get enough cat food...just... #CatsofInstagram #Tiffanie #AsianCat #catstagram #instacat #catoftheday #catsagram #ilovemycat #instagramcats #catlovers #lovecats #caturday #adoptdontshop #cats_of_instagram #catsofig #catsofinsta #cutecats #PethoodStories

( #Presstrip ) I have a soft spot for @Fortnums but didn't really know much about it till a little tour of the famous store with @London.Westend - I did know the story about the business having originated from one of Queen Anne's footmen selling candle-ends from the royal court. And I also knew that #Fortnums have supplied goods to royalty since 1707. I didn't know that they also invented the food hamper (though I DID know how aspirational a Fortnum's hamper is - and I do still have my own empty one!). I was a little suprised by the window display at the moment but it turns out that Mr Heinz arrived at Fortnum & Mason with five cases of tinned goods - and the whole lot were bought. Thus Heinz Baked Beans were introduced to the British public. To celebrate its 150th Anniversary, Heinz has partnered with Fortnum's to create limited edition Fortnum & Mason labels. And, just as it was in 1886, they are exclusively available at Fortnum’s. If your poison isn't baked beans, you could try the chocolate asparagus or Scotch Egg (Fortnum's invented the 'non-chocolate' scotch egg too). Or you could make for the Parlour and enjoy a decadent icecream sundae. What better way to treat your mum for #MothersDay? #Invited to @tomsimmons_tb for a celebratory #Welsh brunch to celebrate #StDavidsDay #DyddGwylDewi - stunning King scallops with cauliflower, laverbread and sea vegetables. #FoodDrinkWales #gwladgwlad #thisiswales @foodanddrinkwales - there's such a wealth of amazing produce in Wales - those GREEN valleys that Dylan Thomas loved so much mean that the lamb and beef is beautifully sweet and the Atlantic coastline results in some stunning seafood. The perfect way to celebrate is to enjoy this kind of feast! #welsh #welshproduce #ogymru #cymru @llioangharad
