Take a look into the fire-pit!!!! The pretty seaside fishing village of #Arbroath is famous for two things. Firstly for the #ArbroathSmokie - a PGI delicacy made from hot smoked Haddock fillets. Originating from Auchmithie, a small fishing village a few miles north of Arbroath, which was once populated with fishing people of Scandinavian origin. The fishwives originally smoked the fish in halved barrels with fires underneath, trapping the smoke under layers of hessian sacking. At the start of the 20th century, the first Auchmithie fisher-folk began moving to Arbroath, and the process soon became known as the Arbroath Smokie, as we know it today. The Arbroath Smokie has been officially recognised at the highest levels in Europe and has official protection through the Protected Geographical Indication, like Parma Ham, Parmesan and Champagne. Apparently, even when we leave the EU that protection will remain! Here you can see the haddock neatly tied in pairs of fillets and suspended over wooden beams, with the firepit below. They are then covered with hessian soaked in water and left to smoke. Delicious served just as they come the smoked fish has a sweet taste and flakes into beautiful morsels. Abroath is also home to Arbroath Abbey, founded in 1178 by William the Lion. It has a special place in Scottish history because of the Declaration of Arbroath of 1320, which asserted Scotland's independence from England. More of that to come later... #TayCountry @VisitAngus #VisitAngus #travelblogger #travelphotography #travel #TBIN #instagood #instatravel #instagramers #guardiantravelsnap #picoftheday #travellife #instatravelling #girlswhotravel #lifestyleblogger #sheisnotlost #travelinstyle #londonblogger #foodstagram #foodphotography #instafoodie #foodbloguk #foodblogger #instafoodblogger

This is the stunning waterfront of Dundee, #Unesco City of Design. To the front of the picture, the Discovery - the last traditional wooden three-masted ship to be built in Britain. Designed for Antarctic research, it was launched as a Royal Research Ship in 1901. Now it is an award-winning museum where you can learn everything about the original Antartic expedition led by Captain Scott. Just behind is the new #VandA - the @vadundee, the first one outside London which will open in the Autumn of this year. Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the inspiration was the Scottish Cliffs. With no straight walls on the exterior, it's a clever design that is functional as well as stunning - the concrete slabs are carefully placed to ensure that seagulls are deterred from nesting! All part of the @dundeecity waterfront, £1bn regeneration project. which I visited as part of a trip to the #TayCountry - did you know Dundee is the sunniest city in the UK!!! #sunnydundee @DundeeCity #travelblogger #travelphotography #travel #instagood #instatravel #instagramers #guardiantravelsnap #pic oftheday #travellife #instatravelling #girlswhotravel #lifestyleblogger #sheisnotlost #travelinstyle #londonblogger

From last night's @LaurentPerrierUK masterclass at @TasteofLondon where we learnt a little about Laurent Perrier Cuvée Rosé and about this historic #Champagne house founded in 1812. It got the name Vve Laurent-Perrier when Mathilde Emilie Perrier, the widow of Eugène Laurent, combined the two family names, but, the 'rebirth' of this champagne house happened later when Bernard de Nonancourt (who had been part of the French Resistance during WWII) took over running the business. La Cuvée Rosé was created in 1968 and is a 100% pinot noir Champagne, with the distinctive pink colour coming from maceration. Our masterclass was in conjunction with Indie Ecology who told us how their farming practices were mirrored by the Champagne house - food was provided by IKOYI, serving some deliciously complex dishes including a wonderful Jollof rice and for dessert a fabulous tomato icecream which paired beautifully with the Cuvée Rosé champagne. #LoveLPRose #TasteofLondon #TasteofLondon2018 Definitely recommended if you are planning to go along to #TasteLondon #ikoyi #PrettyCityLondon #TBIN #TopLondonRestaurants #foodporn #LondonFoodBlog #LondonFoodBlogger #TimeOutLondon #TopLondonPhoto #VisitLondon #igersLondon #LoveLondon #IloveLondon #PrettylittleLondon

Yes, this really is Scotland - not a touch of photoshop involved! This is the chapel on Moot Hill at #SconePalace - the crowning place for #Scottish Kings from at least the 9th century, where Alexander III was crowned in 1249 . It's believed that Moot Hill was at some point been surrounded by a ditch and palisade; it was there that kings professed their vows to the people of #Scotland. This is a 19th-century mausoleum built on the site of Scone church and just outside @SconePalace which dates back to 1803, when the abbey was rebuilt as a Gothic Palace (though traces of the original abbey do still remain, including a stunning wooden floor). It's a family home, lived in by the Earl of Mansfield - though you can visit some of the public rooms. I'll be sharing more about this historic place on the blog over the next few weeks. Lots of stories to share, including how the #StoneofDestiny found its way back to Scotland in 1950 - and how it may or may not have been returned in 1951. And, how John Major then DID give back whatever stone had been returned in 1996...although that stone is in #Edinburgh. All part of a fascinating trip through #TayCountry which has seen me drinking whisky, eating smokies and chocolate (not together!) and enjoying some amazingly sunny weather! #travelblogger #travelphotography #travel #instagood #instatravel #instagramers #guardiantravelsnap #pic oftheday #travellife #instatravelling #girlswhotravel #lifestyleblogger #sheisnotlost #travelinstyle #londonblogger @PerthCityCentre #PerthisthePlace #TBIN Labels EDIT

@LucyontheGo1 is still making us all jealous with her photos of Barbados. Wouldn't you just love to be sitting in one of these deck chairs right now? She tells us: I was staying at the Ocean Two Resort and Residencies, which is situated on the South coast of Barbados at the eastern end of Lawrence Gap in the parish of Christchurch, just 5 miles from Grantley Adams International airport. Ocean Two is a 4-star hotel with a lovely friendly independent feel to it. Ideally situated on the picturesque seafront, which is framed by palm trees and a white powdery sandy beach. It has an inviting swimming pool, which follows the curve of the hotel, plus a fully equipped gym and adult only roof terrace with plunge pool where you can enjoy incredible sunsets over Oistins Bay. The resort restaurant overlooks the beach and offers a swim-in bar plus a drinks service when for when you are lounging on the comfy beach chairs and enjoying the stunning view out to sea. #oceantwobarbados #LoveBarbados #VisitBarbados #seabreezeresort #ExploreBarbados #theyearofculinaryexperiences @londonunattached @visitbarbados 🇧🇧🇧🇧 #sun #seaside #sea #beach #beachlife #holiday #instaholiday #travelblogger #travelphotography #travel #instagood #instatravel #instagramers #guardiantravelsnap #pic oftheday #travellife #instatravelling #girlswhotravel #lifestyleblogger #sheisnotlost #travelinstyle #londonblogger #TBIN

More from @LucyontheGo1 on her recent trip to Barbados... I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Sea Breeze Beach House, an all inclusive hotel in Christ Church, Barbados, what makes this all-inclusive hotel stand apart from the others is that its kitchen is run by award winning Barbadian chef Michael Harrison. The food was of an exceptionally high standard, my previous experiences of all-inclusive dining is that the menu can get very boring, with much the same thing to eat day after day... rest assured here it’s something different, there’s real attention to detail, with fresh inventive and beautifully presented cooking using Bajan ingredients with a bit of a twist. I ate Surf and Turf, which was a fabulous combination of tender slow cooked beef with a sweetly spiced sauce and gloriously big meaty fresh prawns served with creamy mash and a crisp pappadam. #oceantwobarbados @oceantwobarbados #LoveBarbados #VisitBarbados #seabreezeresort #ExploreBarbados #theyearofculinaryexperiences @londonunattached @visitbarbados 🇧🇧🇧🇧 #sun #seaside #sea #beach #beachlife #holiday #instaholiday #travelblogger #travelphotography #travel #instagood #instatravel #instagramers #guardiantravelsnap #pic oftheday #travellife #instatravelling #girlswhotravel #lifestyleblogger #sheisnotlost #travelinstyle #londonblogger

Sometimes things just fall into place! Here's what @Lucyonthego1 has to say about her recent trip to #VisitBarbados... "I was staying 2 in a bedroom luxury Penthouse suite on the top floor with @oceantwobarbados. Imagine...... this is more like a large apartment with two private double bedrooms both with luxurious en-suite facilities, the walk-in power shower was the size of my entire bathroom and a double sink. The massive living area was equally impressive and easy to make yourself at home, it provided an amply sized kitchen area with an American style fridge with chilled water on tap (it’s quite safe to drink the tap water here), a coffee machine, breakfast bar, dining table and comfortable sitting area with TV, sofas and armchairs. It would be the perfect place to stay with friends or family, as you are able to have complete privacy in the bedroom suites but share the large communal living area. The view from the balcony of the ocean and the beach below is quite magnificent. Civilization in paradise! Want to know more? I was lucky enough to stay at the Calabash Boutique Hotel when I visited Grenada. For breakfast you have a choice of having room service with a little extra (your breakfast will be cooked to order for you every morning by your maid in a tiny kitchenette just behind each pair of suites and then served in your sitting room or balcony). Or you can eat at the Beach Club on the beach, the white sanded 'Anse Aux Epines' with this stunning view. I did both - and couldn't decide which I preferred. There's a wonderful sense of intimacy about the Room Service breakfast. But who could miss this view - with the early morning sun glancing off the sands? I just needed to stay for longer to give me more of a chance to make my mind up! @CalabashHotel I was there as part of #GrenadaChocolateFest2018 but could happily recommend the #CalabashHotel as a #LuxuryHotel to visit for a relaxing break a #relaisandchateaux hotel with all-suite accommodation it was voted the #1 hotel in the Caribbean by TripAdvisor and I can fully endorse that ranking. Having just been to the beautiful island of #Grenada in the Caribbean, it would be churlish not to share the wonderful stand at the #ChelseaFlowerShow - here's the Grenada stand at the Chelsea Flower Show Team led by Mrs Catherine John. I can vouch that the island itself is truly an Eden #PureGrenada. @sarahemjames was there at Chelsea today for press day and loved the vibrant display, in the colours of the Grenadian flag! A little bit of Grenada in London for the week... @DiscoverGrenada @robertmbates #LoveLondon #LondonisOpen #igerslondon #london #thisislondon #mydarlinglondon #london4all #Tumblr

One of my favourites from the #grenadachocolatefest2018 was this trip on the #carriacousloop, the Savvy with @savvysailing ( who will happily take visitors to the Island out for a similar trip). The Carriacou is a traditional sailing boat - and Savvy Sailing are just a bit good - they've won a few races too! Not only did we get a wonderful sunset and a special view of beautiful #puregrenada from the sea, but we also enjoyed rum and chocolate pairings from some of the special producers like #triilandchocolate with @tri_island themselves. This is the stuff dreams are made of #freetowonder. @DiscoverGrenada @robertmbates #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #secretplaces

The higher of two infinity pools at @mountedgecombegrenada where we went for a tour of the estate, spice trail and plantation house dating back to 1763. If I had a large family, I'd definitely be there - you can hire the whole property - with space for up to 19 people - and stay in the plantation house or self-contained cottages. It feels like a wealthy family's holiday home - slightly worn around the edges but with bespoke furniture, amazing bedrooms and of course, wonderful views out to sea. Our visit was a little different - we were there to learn about the exclusive chocolate produced on #Grenada from @WillTorrent as part of #GrenadaChocolateFest2018 @GrenadaChocoFes - there are now 5 independent chocolate producers on the island, each with their own special way of doing things. I haven't been to them all - so obviously I'll need to go back ;) but I did get to visit 3 of them. Will's event gave everyone the chance to explore the differences between all 5 by comparing similar chocolates from different producers side by side. Of course, we got to swim too! Next time I think I'll just get lost in the 28-acre estate and stay on for a few months or so. . . . #PureGrenada #FreetoWonder @DiscoverGrenada @robertmbates

So, will #Grenada live up to #StLucia where I enjoyed some wonderful hospitality in a vibrant Caribbean setting - somehow I think it will be equally good but just a little different! We are going for the #GranadaChocolateFest2018 which is always a good start - so perhaps I won't be drinking cocktails by the pool as I was at #SerenityatCoconutBay @SerenityatCbay but I'm sure I'll love every minutes - just as I did in StLucia #PureGrenada #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #secretplaces #LetHerInspireYou

While this might bear something of a resemblance to #HestonBlumenthal 's meat fruit it's actually the Mandarin Cheesecake from @ThePetershamHotel #PetershamHotel a privately owned Victorian hotel and restaurant on Richmond Hill overlooking the River Thames. The stunning Victorian 'Italian Gothic' hotel looks out over a view of Petersham Meadows famously captured by J.M.W Turner (Tate Britain), quintessential England and a popular beauty spot from the 18th Century. And, what's better, you can feast on Chef Jean-Didier Gouges's immaculate and delicious food!
