I had time, on my day trip to #Bath to visit #BathAbbey - it's a Grade I listed building and quite fantastic both inside and outside, with particularly spectacular vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows that are best seen from the inside and stunning gothic architecture on the outside. It was partly restored by George Gilbert Scott (of London St Pancras fame) . There's been an Abbey on this site since 675ad - it must be one of the oldest Christian sites in the UK? Definitely worth the suggested £4 contribution to visit - I'm just sad that I wasn't there for evensong. Bath has had a #Unesco listing since 1987 - because of its Roman Remains, the 18th Century (Georgian) Architecture, 18th Century Town Planning, Social Setting, Hot Springs and Landscape Setting. And of course, the Abbey. #travelwriter #instatravel #travelgram #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #bbctravel @visitengland @visitbath
