It's quite unusual to find an egg on my plate at #breakfast even at @b2hotel. A guilty secret as I don't like them, but I wanted that 'oozing yolk' picture with my avocado mash on toast @bermondseysquarehotel where I was staying the night. So I asked for one, not two eggs, just to make the shot. Then, I discovered that I quite liked the combination anyway - at least the runny yolk part. So I ate at least some of it. I was staying at the hotel to make the most of the #Antiques #Market that runs there every Friday morning. Breakfast was delicious - apart from the avo mash and egg on toast there were some really moreish pastries and a good buffet with #Bermondsey #Honey on offer to go with the toast or yoghurt. The Fatet Jaj Chicken at #Tabun @tabunKitchen was quite the prettiest rice and chicken dish I've seen for a while. Delicious too - it's a mix of shredded lemon chicken, rice, hummus sauce, chill, toasted pine nuts and sauteed garlic. When you are on a spa trip to a hotel like @therunnymede, you should be careful what you drink - isn't that right? Well, so we did - non alcoholic elderflower presse with mint (mojito without the hangover) and #Skinnyprosecco which has just 67 calories per glass. Delicious too - it does that by cutting out most of the sugar - and the result is a drier drink which I prefer. The perfect pre-dinner aperitifs at the lock, where we enjoyed a three-course meal after a day of pampering and indulgence. I might just have had another glass of wine or two...maybe! My room had a stunning view of the Thames - and I was only sad that the hot-tug (a hot tub on a boat) was out of action - I'd rather fancy a trip up the Thames in a private hot tub with a glass of champagne on hand! #travelblogger #instatbn #writetotravel #instapassport #postcardsfromtheworld #guardiantravelsnaps #ttot #tbin #travelblog #bbctravel #secretplaces

Here's a close-up of the view from my room, the #Thames at #Runnymede @TheRunnymede. In addition to some excellent spa facilities, comfy rooms and 2 AA rosette dining, they offer private boat hire to travel up and down the river (with or without a skipper). Given we seem to be in for an Indian Summer you might just want to get yourself down there. The Top of the Tower - an #AfternoonTea treat - Matcha sponge with Yuzu nd honey creme mousseline and blackberry jelly, topped with a gilded blackberry and a burnt honey jelly with jasmine panna cotta and granola. All part of the @StErminsHotel #Honey afternoon tea which celebrates the 350,000 honey bees that live on the bee terrace on the third floor of the hotel and on the roof. We really enjoyed the indulgent tea - and thought it was excellent value at £35 for all you could eat and unlimited #Prosecco. All in the #luxurious surroundings of the #StErminsHotel tea room. October is @visitbankside food month. At #Bankside you'll find a range of special events and deals. We went along to #Macellaio to learn about their baking course and what makes their bread so special - the answer is that they make traditional #Ligurian breads including this delicious cheese stuffed focaccia. And you can learn to make it too! On 17th October there's an interactive bakery class there where guests will explore all the different flours and their uses. Once you've learnt to bake focaccia, pissa al'Andrea and Grissini you'll sit down to enjoy a three course set meal.
