Prague Castle is something of a misnomer - what you find is massive castle complex in #Prague, Czech Republic, dating from the 9th century. Apart from being the official office of the President of the Czech Republic today, the castle was a seat of power for kings of Bohemia, Holy Roman emperors, and presidents of Czechoslovakia. The Bohemian Crown Jewels are supposed to be kept in a hidden room inside it. This is St Vitus Cathedral, a major Gothic building within the complex. This is the south side with the main tower and the Golden Gate. The main tower was finished by Nikolaus Pacassi in the fifteen century in Baroque style. There's a large courtyard area in front of this facade which seems particularly popular for selfies. And the sky was blue, the sun was out, the Cathedral almost sparkled in the spring light. A lovely place to visit - and worth going inside. If you don't want to pay for a ticket, you can still take a glimpse of the interior, but it's well worth looking properly as the Cathedral is full of treasures. #VisitCZ #VisitPrague #VisitCzechRepublic #Prague #czechrepublic #instaprague #praha #travelwriter #instatravel #travelgram#travelblog #instatbn #writetotravel #visitprague #postcardsfromtheworld #ttot #tbin @czechtourism_UK #insta_prague #prague #theprettycities #alley #wonderful_prague #instaprague #ig_europe
