A curious kind of Cookery Lesson - here's how to make Gingerbread Tudor style... !!!!

This is how to make Gingerbread Tudor Style - a lesson at Mary Arden's Farm near Stratford upon Avon.  Just in case you didn't know, Mary Arden was Shakespeare's mum. The farm was built by Mary’s father, Robert Arden around 1514. Today, visitors to Mary Arden’s Farm can peek inside the chimney and the walls, discover how the house was built and imagine what life must have been like for Mary when she lived here with her seven sisters. Together with neighbouring Palmer’s Farmhouse you can take several steps back in time and get a real idea of the life of a working farm at the time of Shakespeare. Palmer's Farmhouse retains much of its original 16th Century structure and today you'll find costumed 'labourers and servants' running the estate. Read more about it and find out how to visit on the blog -

Kay from the team has been to Hampton Court Flower Show with @the_rhs where she spotted this amazing garden! Here's what she says about it I had a great day out at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show. Here's one of my favourites from the stunning collection of show gardens. This is the Children with Cancer UK: Mr.Happy, Mr.Worry Hill Show Garden. Designed by Emma Reed it is a fun concept intended to convey the emotions of families living with cancer. The hill is split with half a house on each side. On one the bright yellow and orange half symbolises happy emotions, the other blue and purple half the worry surrounding realisation that the child has cancer. I've found out since that this year the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (3-8 July) has introduced a new large outdoor screen in celebration of the iconic events taking place this weekend (#worldcup2018 football and #Wimbledon of course!) to ensure visitors to the show don’t miss a beat on their favourite sporting events, as they soak up the beauty and atmosphere of the flower festival. Coinciding perfectly with Britain’s heatwave, guests will have the opportunity to lounge in one of our pin-stripe deckchairs with a Pimm’s in hand on Saturday as the quarter-final World Cup football match between England and Sweden will be streamed live from the screen. Visitors are more than welcome to bring their own picnic rug, nibbles and a celebratory bottle of fizz for when our team kicks the winning goal, or choose from the assortment of food to please even the pickiest of taste buds! What a great idea! #RHSHampton #hamptoncourtflowershow #flowershow #gardening #hamptoncourt #londonlife #thisislondon #igerslondon #visitlondon #instalondon #prettycitylondon #prettylittlelondon #TBIN #TTOT #travelblogs
