#Invited A delicious amuse bouche served in neatly cropped hen's eggshells at Reading's only Michelin Starred restaurant, l'Ortolan. This dish was a fresh and light ponzu cured stone bass topped with avruga caviar with pickled fennel and a dashi custard. I was pleasantly taken by surprise by the Asian influences throughout the meal, adding a light and delicate note to the perfect classic French cuisine of Tom Clarke, the head chef at l'Ortolan. The 6 course + tasting menu Gourmand here is £79 per person and offers superb value for exemplary food with excellent quality ingredients.
