Do you ever revisit places and wonder if you really knew them in the first place? That's a bit how I felt on my most recent trip to #Edinburgh. I travelled up on the @CaledonianSleeper and then stayed at @BonhamHotel near #DeanVillage on the edge of #EdinburghNewTown and the #WestEnd. More to come on the main blog but I was quite stunned by this little, rural pocket of Scotland in the heart of Edinburgh! It is is a former village that was known as the "Water of Leith Village" and was the centre of a successful grain milling area for more than 800 years. At one time there were eleven working mills there, driven by the strong currents of the Water of Leith. Today it feels like a fascinating moment in history frozen in time. #architecture #architecturephotography #architecturelover #TBIN #TTOT #Heritage #VisitScotland #VisitEdinburgh #LoveScotland
