This is the stunning waterfront of Dundee, #Unesco City of Design. To the front of the picture, the Discovery - the last traditional wooden three-masted ship to be built in Britain. Designed for Antarctic research, it was launched as a Royal Research Ship in 1901. Now it is an award-winning museum where you can learn everything about the original Antartic expedition led by Captain Scott. Just behind is the new #VandA - the @vadundee, the first one outside London which will open in the Autumn of this year. Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, the inspiration was the Scottish Cliffs. With no straight walls on the exterior, it's a clever design that is functional as well as stunning - the concrete slabs are carefully placed to ensure that seagulls are deterred from nesting! All part of the @dundeecity waterfront, £1bn regeneration project. which I visited as part of a trip to the #TayCountry - did you know Dundee is the sunniest city in the UK!!! #sunnydundee @DundeeCity #travelblogger #travelphotography #travel #instagood #instatravel #instagramers #guardiantravelsnap #pic oftheday #travellife #instatravelling #girlswhotravel #lifestyleblogger #sheisnotlost #travelinstyle #londonblogger
